When was the last time you were really listened to?

I don't think I have ever been truly listened too. Of course  there is the respond and listen conversations I have...but there not really like that at all. One person would just talk a lot about themselves and their situations, and how I would respond is with something that is general sympathy or empathy. But I listen a lot. I ask many questions about the other person, suggest advices in tough situations and give feed back to a situation, but to be actually sit downed and listen to, where I am talking about my life, I don't think I have...I know I have tried. But I haven't been able to get the other person to listen...
